Presenting the Eastbrook Visual Arts AND-NOW Collab
Our Year 12 A Level Art & Design students have stepped into the shoes of professional graphic designers, in collaboration with the impressive and internationally acclaimed AND-NOW branding agency. This year, we also welcomed our sister school Barking Abbey to participate in this fantastic opportunity.
Throughout the project, students learned how to Research, Immerse, Create, Develop and Deliver remarkable outcomes, in response to a real-world brief set by the AND-NOW designers. Year 12s approached the challenge of creating a brand identity for a client, fully understanding how a Visual Arts A Level provides real-world skills.
Students selected a theme and created their outcomes in response to the concept of the resurgence of The Worlds Fair. Inspired by topics they believed should be celebrated, students delved into the history of the Great Exhibition, which was first established in 1851 and reflected on what they felt should be the highlight of their envisioned identity. From this research, students then immersed themselves into studying the breadth of artists, movements, as well as the symbolism and history of the era to reinforce their creative process. They then produced artefacts such as an overall and personal theme, a colour palette, logo, posters, business cards and even saleable products, such as tote bags!
Year 12 have truly exhibited all of our PROUD habits of Eastbrook, with amazing diverse and outstanding outcomes. We are truly PROUD of their work!
