Health & Social Care

At Eastbrook School, we offer Level 3 Health and Social Care Extended Diploma; a two-year A Level equivalent course. The main aim of the course is to understand how professionals provide care for service users with different needs. The course will support you on how to deliver care in a variety of health and social care settings including hospital, residential home, day care centre etc. The course builds your understanding of the requirements and challenges of working in a healthcare setting, including building relationships, safeguarding and health and safety in different settings. You will also learn how to develop a person-centred approach to care by exploring real life scenarios and discussions around challenges and overcoming barriers to provide effective care. You will focus on anatomy, physiology, nutrition and infection control.

During the course you will:

  • research topical issues within health and social care
  • develop and apply a full range of academic skills
  • explore real situations that may occur in health and social care settings via scenarios and work experience

This is a two year course equivalent to 3 A Levels e.g. D*D*D*, DMM etc. and leads to a national qualification recognised by universities/employers.
