British Science Week - Change & Adaptation
Following on from Monday's fantastic assembly to launch British Science Week here at Eastbrook, our Reception class enjoyed learning all about the adaptation of animals through camouflage. Pupils actively participated in a demonstration by working in pairs to hide and find 'caterpillars' made from different coloured strands of wool, in the grass in the garden. Learners were quick to notice that some were easy to find whilst others were really tricky. Harrison explained it beautifully by saying: "It was easy to find the pink one because it didn't blend in with the green grass." To end the session, children learnt about the adaptations that some animals make to protect themselves in the wild. The colour changing chameleons were a huge hit.
