This year so far, the Year 7 students have not just met expectations—they’ve blown past them. From the first week of term, they brought an infectious energy, a hunger to learn, and a willingness to support one another that set the tone for something special. We wish to highlight three students in particular who have not only received multiple Head of Year awards, but they have also received the prestigious Headteacher award for their outstanding achievements so far. The Head of Year 7 Mr Cartney-Chand has said: “I am very PROUD of our students and cannot wait to see them continue to shine! An extra special well done to Owen, Dawid and Rebecca.

Eastbrook School is an Ofsted rated Good, all-through school in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and is part of the Barking Abbey family. Founded in 1933, Eastbrook has a well-established history of serving the local community, with many generations of families attending as students and even joining as staff. The primary school opened in 2016 and is growing in size year on year. The secondary school transferred into new, state of the art buildings in 2017, benefiting from purpose-built specialist learning environments with industry level resources and outstanding access to green outdoor spaces.

Eastbrook is a thriving and growing community school, welcoming students from a broad range of backgrounds, culturally, economically and in terms of need.
