Year 4’s Adventure into Ancient Greece

20 Mar

Year 4 had an exciting and educational visit to the British Museum today, where we explored the fascinating world of Ancient Greece! Our main focus was on the Ancient Greece rooms, where the children delved into different aspects of Greek life, mythology, and religion.

During our visit, we investigated artefacts and displays that revealed insights into everyday life in Ancient Greece. The children explored how people lived, worked, and socialised, comparing life in ancient times to their own experiences today. We also examined statues, pottery, and temple structures dedicated to the Ancient Greek gods and goddesses, deepening our understanding of their beliefs and rituals. Additionally, we looked at myths and legends, uncovering the stories of heroes, monsters, and epic adventures that continue to inspire us today.

The journey to the museum was smooth and straightforward. We hopped on the District Line before changing to the Central Line and then enjoyed a short walk to the museum. The children behaved impeccably throughout the trip, demonstrating curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm for their learning.

A huge well done to all of Year 4 for their fantastic engagement! Keep an eye on our Class Dojo page for some follow-up activities related to our visit. We can’t wait to see how this experience will inspire our future learning!
