Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Regional Final

18 Mar

On Tuesday 25th March, Eastbrook School will be delighted to host the Jack Petchey 'Speak Out!' Regional Final!

This event brings Year 10 orators from schools across Barking and Dagenham to compete in a speaking event, where they will be judged on their content, delivery, structure and the positive impact of their speeches - and there are some pretty impressive prizes up for grabs. The winner of the event is then considered for the National Final which takes place at a West End theatre in the summer.

Following their success in an internal Assembly Final, Eastbrook School will be represented by Amena and Muhammad who have been busy preparing their speeches. There will also be musical performances by Sebastian in Year 8 and Blessing, Anayah and Esther in Year 9.

Amena and Muhammad will be hoping to replicate the success of Wazid in Year 11 who beat all of the Barking and Dagenham finalists in 2024 to win the Regional Final, captured in the photos below. In recognition of his success, Wazid will be the MC for the evening, which will be judged by local VIPS. The press will also be in attendance.

The event runs from 6.30 to 8.30pm. It is open to the public - we would be so happy to see parents, friends and teachers supporting our speakers.

We are PROUD of our Amena and Muhammad for making the final, as well as the 60 other Year 10 students who participated in a workshop earlier in the year as part of the process.
