We are very pleased to announce that five of our Year 11 students have been successful in securing a work experience place this summer.
The students, who attended a careers and apprenticeship event in Barking Library last term were able to use contacts made there as well as links we already have to gain their places.
Two students have been working at the site of the new London film studios at Dagenham East. They were hosted by Oakmont Construction as a result of a link with Nikki Cassidy one of our alumni. Nikki visited the school earlier this year and was so impressed with our students that she recommended our students to be the first that Oakmont have offered work experience to. We would like to thank Philip Cracknell, Ian Rowe and Sarah Craigie for their onsite support.
Links forged with The L & Q Foundation as part of our IAG programme have had many excellent spin offs not least the opportunity for three of our student to attend a week’s placement at their head office in Stratford east London. This they did in June. Mr Charlton and Mr Samuel both visited the L&Q Offices and were extremely impressed with the quality of the work placements. We would like to thank Kalee Sohanpal and the mentors for their hard work and commitment to ensure that our students got the best out of the time spent on work experience.
